What’s the story behind Parti?
Parti started as an idea we had 4 years ago, we noticed that we haven’t even seen a fraction of our entire student body. That’s a lot of missed connections!
The whole purpose of going to college is to make new friends, lifelong connections, and get that expensive piece of paper that says you’re qualified to work in a specific field. We focused on how we could make it easier for students to connect with each other on their own campus, so we came up with a college social networking platform called Parti. The whole purpose of Parti is to instantly give the student access to their entire campus, thus enhancing the college experience by making friends with people you would have never met otherwise. From there the students can choose what to make of it. To us its about taking small steps towards the bigger picture.
What was the most difficult part of your experience in the early beginnings?
The most difficult aspect of being a technology startup that isn’t anywhere near Silicon Valley is finding likeminded entrepreneurial team members. We basically had to start from scratch. We had an idea to build an app, but none of us had software experience. We had to pitch the concept to hundreds of people to get to where we are now.
What are you most proud of regarding your business?
I am most proud of my team and how dedicated they are to making a mobile app that can compete with the tech giants. We are by no means close to their multi-billion dollar companies but technology wise we support many of the features they do.
What is your vision for the future of Parti?
Our vision for Parti is to be a service that enhances the college experience for students across the United States. We see a future where students from across the country and connecting and interacting with each other.
What’s your advice for the businesses that are trying to adapt to this economic climate?
Put yourself into the shoes of your customer and solve the problems they are having. Business hasn’t changed, the interaction with the customer is what is changing.
