The New York Times Co said it will end its partnership with Apple News, effective June 29, at a time when the publisher is shifting focus towards a model based on digital subscriptions.
The technology giant said advertisers would earn equal payments for their advertising and Apple News would not comply with its plan to establish meaningful partnerships with paid customers.
In the last quarter published, NYT, which has over four million subscribers for its news subscription, added a record 468,000 paying subscribers.
For many years , the organization has been concentrating digitally to curb declines from its paper subscription network and to reduce its ad sales dependency.
